Enter To Win…
This fine weather that Oregon has been experiencing just invites visitors to the coast! Oregon (one of two states – the other being Hawaii), are the only two places in the United States with full public beach access. 363 miles of access!
During the month of July, we are celebrating 100 years of sand, sun and special moments as the anniversary of the 1913 bill, written by then Governor Oswald West is observed. To help commemorate such a forward thinking concept, (public land actually belonging to the public if you will), state officials are inviting people to enter their photo contest.
Entries for the contest may consist of (current or historical) family photos, recreation options and so forth. The State of Oregon wishes to see how those visiting the coast have been able to enjoy the many, yet varied stretches of beach lining the western side of the state. This contest is open to non-professional photographers 18 years and older. Submitted photos need to be original digital images or high resolution scans. Permission is required from all subjects to have their image displayed online. Oregon Parks and Recreation Department employees and families are ineligible to participate. The photo competition will run through July 31st and the winner will be chosen by the public through on-line voting, August 1-15. The top winner, plus three runners up will have their photos displayed at the Oregon State Fair in Salem, August 23-September 2, 2013.
So shutterbugs…get your cameras out, start clicking and enjoy the lovely gem we call the Oregon Coast.
